<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composite particles for display media, which is superior in electrostatic chargeability and durability against repeated collisions. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The composite particles 31 for display media constituting a display medium for use in a panel for information display wherein a display medium constituted as chargeable particles is enclosed between two substrates facing each other, at least one of which is transparent, and is moved the display medium by application of an electric field to the display medium to display information such as an image, are obtained by sticking or fixing particulates 33 having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic portion or a nitrogen-containing aliphatic portion on surfaces thereof, to surfaces of mother particles 32 and then making reaction with an alkyl sulfonate.
