<p>A vehicle seat having a structure which is suitable for cost reduction and thinning of the vehicle seat and effectively reduces an impact applied to the neck of an occupant when a rear collision occurs. A seatback frame (1) for constituting a seatback (S11) of a vehicle seat (S1) is provided with a pair of side frame sections (9, 9) which each have at least a portion thereof consisting of a pipe-like member, which are arranged so as to be separated from each other in the left-right direction, and which extend in the top-bottom direction, and the seatback frame (1) is also provided with an upper frame (15) for interconnecting the pair of side frame sections (9, 9) on the upper side thereof. Flat sections (16a, 16a) each deformed outward in the left-right direction to reduce the thickness thereof in the left-right direction are formed in those areas of the pipe-like members of the pair of side frame sections (9, 9) which face each other. Because of the configuration, the distance between the pair of side frame sections (9, 9) can be increased without changing the dimension of the seatback frame (1) in the left-right direction, and this allows an occupant (C) to more smoothly rest against the backrest surface of the seatback (S11).</p> |
