<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the appearance of an operation knob device for an automobile, such as a shift knob, by preventing an adhesive from protruding to the surface side of a member bonding part of the operation knob device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The operation knob device for the automobile includes one member, the other member which is fitted on the one member, bonding parts erected opposite to both the one and the other members, and an adhesive applied to one of the bonding parts for bonding the one member and the other member. The operation knob device includes also a recessed groove formed under the bonding part so as to receive the adhesive flowing out from the bonding part or the adhesive and vaporized gas generated from the adhesive.
