<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bast separator capable of separating efficiently bast from a stem of a bast plant. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bast separator 10 for removing a core part 94 from the stem 90 of the bast plant, to separate the bast 92, is provided with a separation mechanism 20 provided with rotary rollers 22, 24 having a protrusion arranged along an axial direction in an outer circumferential part, for separating the stem 90 into the core part 94 and the bast 92, while generating a longitudinal-directional pulling force in the stem 90, by bringing the rotary rollers 22, 24 into pressure contact with the longitudinal-directionally fed stem 90 by the protrusions, to be rotated, and for separating the bast 92 discharged while ejected along a discharge direction by the rotary rollers 22, 24, from the core part 94, and a bast carrying-out mechanism 50 for carrying the bast 92 ejected and discharged from the separation mechanism 20, along a direction B orthogonal to a discharge direction A ejected with the bast 92.
