<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SMC (sheet molding compound) producing method that can prevent an SMC material held between both mold releasing films, from spreading in the width direction of the mold releasing films. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The SMC producing method comprises continuously delivering and feeding one long-sized mold releasing film, supplying a molding material 21 of thermosetting resin onto the mold releasing film while dispersing fibers 22, continuously delivering and feeding the other long-sized mold releasing film, supplying a molding material 21 of thermosetting resin onto the mold releasing film, placing the molding material 21 on the other mold releasing film 12 and the mold releasing film, on top of the molding material 21 on the one mold releasing film 11 and the fibers 22, and allowing these to pass between net conveyors serving as a vertical pair of impregnating devices 43 while continuously feeding them, thus holding the SMC material 2 between both mold releasing films. Each of the vicinity of both ends in the width direction of both mold releasing films is intermittently welded over the longitudinal direction of the mold releasing films.
