<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pillow whose height is different when lying on his/her back and when lying sideways, and which smoothly sinks when putting a head thereon in a supine posture. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The pillow 1 has a head placement member 2 having a flat rectangular parallelepiped shape and having an inside cavity 2a, and also has an urging device 4 provided in the cavity 2a for urging a portion above the cavity 2a upward in the head placement member 2 and supporting the portion above the cavity in that state. The urging device 4 includes: rectangular link mechanisms 6, 6 which includes lower side links 7, 7, front side links 8, 8, rear side links 9, 9, and upper side links 10, 10, and in which the forward inclination angle of the front side links 8, 8 is larger than that of the rear side links 9, 9; and tension springs 17, 17 fixed between the upper parts of the front side links 8, 8 and the vicinity of the rear end parts of the lower side links 7, 7. When the head of a user is placed on the front side part of the head placement member 2, the upper side links 10, 10 are displaced below, the front side links 8, 8 and the rear side links 9, 9 fall down forward, and the upper surface of the head mounting member 2 sinks.
