The module (7') has a processor (7.1') in a housing (7.9'), where a user device e.g. franking machine (FM), is connected with the module by a plug-in-connector for safety-relevant and postal data. The housing is connected with an integrated interface circuit (7.2 '), a plug-in -connector (7.3'), a program memory e.g. Flash memory (7.5 '), a main memory e.g. RAM (7.6 ') and a non volatile (NV) memory e.g. NVRAM (7.7 '). A memory module for a customer data is directly connected with the processor or connected through a bus (7.8').
