Mudguard aloowing acoustic absorption

The assembly has a mud guard (18) and a body shell part (14) for forming a closed cavity (32), when the mud guard is mounted on the body shell part. The cavity extends between the body shell part and the mud guard. A cup shaped portion (24) of the mud guard delimiting the cavity is made of thermoplastic sealing material such as polypropylene reinforced with glass fibers. Maximal dimension of the cavity measured along a direction normal to a wall of the body shell part is 5 mm. The cavity is filled with textile fibers, when the mud guard is mounted on a vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a mud guard on a body shell part of a vehicle.
