<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coiling method for manufacturing a plurality (e. g. four) of air core coils, which are used as a set of coils, from one continuous wire rod without cutting. <P>SOLUTION: According to the coiling method for forming a plurality of coils, a plurality of intermediate guides are held between a tail shaft guide and a main shaft guide by an external chuck, and a wound core is inserted through the through-hole of the held intermediate guide from the tail shaft guide toward the main shaft guide, and the intermediate guide is supported. Then, the external chuck holding the intermediate guide is released, and the intermediate guide on the wound core is positioned by a tail shaft side chuck. A wire rod is wound around the wound coil positioned by the intermediate guide at the initial coiling position, and then the intermediate guide is positioned again by the tail shaft side chuck and a main shaft side chuck to determine the next coiling position.
