BACK-LIGHT UNIT AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE BACK-LIGHT UNIT

PURPOSE: A back light unit and a display device including thereof are provided to reduce the thickness of the back light unit by arranging multiple light emitting blocks in a first and a 2 directions in the matrix shape. CONSTITUTION: A back light unit comprises the following: multiple light emitting blocks(320) located at a first and a 2 directions crossing each other in the matrix shape; a light source unit and a light guide panel included in the multiple light emitting blocks; a light emitting chip included in the light source unit; and a light source driver(310) individually controlling the light source unit in the light emitting blocks using a local dimming method. The light guide panel radiates the light from the light source unit.
