PURPOSE: A method for defining a hold image of a container ship and a program recording medium therefor are provided to automatically define a hold image by a predetermined method, thereby preventing user's mistake in basic calculation of the container ship. CONSTITUTION: A hull surface is formed in a monitor screen(S110). A structure plane is generated(S120). The structure plane is saved in a reference table(S130). Section check is performed(S140). Generation and correction of container arrangement are performed(S150). A container hold inner surface is generated(S160). A hold image is defined(S170). Final hold image definition is completed(S210).
