<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having the reduced number of components of a motor case while preventing outflow of exhaust air of the vacuum cleaner to its outside without passing through an exhaust cleaning/dust-collecting filter, and having a simple structure and favorable assembling property. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner has an air blowing section constituting an electric air blower, an electric motor, and an exhaust cleaning/dust-collecting filter provided in a motor case where the electric blower is housed and cleaning the exhaust from the motor case. The motor case includes a front motor case and a rear motor case which are detachably joined together, the front motor case covers the air blowing section, the rear motor case covers the electric motor, the front motor case has an integrated structure formed by superposing a rigid layer of synthertic resin and an elastic layer with elasticity, and a joining section where the front motor case and the rear motor case are joined, retains airtightness by joining the elastic layer of the front motor case with the rear motor case.
