<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the surface stiffness of the ceiling surface of a synthetic resin intake collector, and to ensure a large inner volume with respect to an outside dimension. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This flat box-shaped intake collector for a V-type six cylinder engine includes a base member 1 and a cover member 2, and has both sides made to serve as a pair of volume portions 5, 6 corresponding to banks and a center portion made to serve as a communication portion 7. Both the side portions 8a, 8b of an upper wall portion 8 corresponding to the volume portions 5, 6 have outside surfaces formed with ribs 9a, 9b, and the center portion 8c thereof corresponding to the communication portion 7 bulges outward and also has an inside surface formed with a rib 9c. Since no intake air flows substantially in the communication portion 7, there is no intake air resistance. In comparison with the outside dimension restricted in the position of an engine hood, the rib 9c is provided on the inside surface, thereby increasing the inner volume.
