<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method which can completely eliminate the image irrespective of the condition of a recording medium even when the image is recorded/eliminated repeatedly to cause the degradation of the recording medium and the occurrence of a recess on the surface of the recording medium and can prevent the background fogging of a heat reversible recording medium through the repeated elimination of the image and a decline in density. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing method includes an image elimination process in which the image which is irradiated with laser beams and recorded in the heat reversible recording medium is irradiated with laser beams and eliminated. In a thermal recording medium, at least a heat reversible recording layer and a protective layer are laminated on a support. A heat reversible layer becomes a first color state at a first temperature and a second color state at a second temperature higher than the first temperature. The oscillation wavelength of the irradiating laser beams is an absorption range of the heat reversible layer and the protective layer. The energy density of the laser beams is made to be within an image eliminable energy density range and at the central value of the range or below to eliminate the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
