<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operations of inputting and changing symbol strings and shorten time to search for target symbol strings in symbol string search. <P>SOLUTION: An optional position in an input symbol string is specified with an operation or automatically without any operation, and the symbol in the specified position in the symbol string is changed to change the symbol string to the preceding or following symbol string in a particular arrangement order.
