PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of restraining a temperature from getting low in a nip part imparting a glossiness to an unfixed toner image on a recording material, and capable of obtaining a uniform glossiness during fixing processing from the start of continuous passage to the finish of the continuous passage of the recording material. SOLUTION: A moving member 32 is displaced to the second position before clamping-conveying continuously the recording material P by the first nip part N1 and the second nip part N2, heat is supplied to the second nip part forming unit 20 by a heating member 31, until the second nip part forming unit 20 reaches a prescribed temperature, and the moving member is displaced from the second position to the first position, in response to that the second nip part forming unit 20 reaches the prescribed temperature.
