<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for in-wheel motor, which can accurately estimate a change in motor temperature due to external heat and can perform appropriate control of a motor using the estimation for control. <P>SOLUTION: The controller of the in-wheel motor provided inside or near a wheel, together with a brake is equipped with a motor temperature detecting means for detecting the actual temperature T of a motor (Step S1); a motor temperature estimating means for estimating the logical temperature T' of the motor by using a heat transmission model M (Step S1); a brake overheat detecting means which detects overheating of the brake, by estimating that the brake is in an overheated state, when a deviation between the actual motor temperature T and the estimated motor temperature T' exceeds a threshold α for determining an overheat of the brake (Step S2); and a motor torque control means for restricting the output torque of the in-wheel motor, when the brake is determined to be in an overheated state (Step S3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
