<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display correcting its gamma characteristics to allow the display image to be viewed with almost the same gamma characteristics all over the front surface of the liquid crystal panel when viewing the center of the liquid crystal panel from the front. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes a gamma correction means (39) to perform gamma correction by using the gamma characteristics matching the viewing angle of 90° for the signals to be displayed on the pixels at a specific position within the face of the liquid crystal panel (14), and to perform gamma correction for each pixel by using the gamma characteristics obtained by sequentially correcting the gamma characteristics matching the viewing angle of 90° for the signals to be displayed on the pixels in the areas from the specific position to the edges of the liquid crystal panel (14). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
