<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of an engine cooling oil passage provided with a cooling oil pump for pumping up cooling oil from an oil pan, an oil cooling circuit having an oil cooler for cooling the oil to be discharged from the cooling oil pump, a bypass circuit for bypassing the oil cooling circuit, and a thermostat for controlling flow of the oil to be discharged from the cooling oil pump into the oil cooling circuit and the bypass circuit to eliminate a necessity of a member for protecting the thermostat as well as a necessity for ensuring a space for arranging the thermostat outside an engine body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bypass circuit 106 and the oil cooling circuit 105 are connected to a branching part 103 provided in an oil discharge pipe 102 communicating with a discharge port of the cooling oil pump 63 and housed in the oil pan 20, and the thermostat 107 is arranged in the branching part 103.
