PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystalline polyester for a toner which obtains a toner excellent in transparency, and also to provide a toner for electrophotography. SOLUTION: The crystalline polyester for a toner is obtained by the condensation polymerization of an alcohol component containing a 2-8C aliphatic diol with a carboxylic acid component containing at least one selected from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, an alkylsuccinic acid and an alkenylsuccinic acid.
