PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material for a machine part with at least a part thereof consisting of a resin foam, which can change its shape for the machine part of a different shape at low cost when the shape change is necessary. SOLUTION: The packing material A for the machine part comprises a lower member 10 which is a foamed or non-foamed resin molded body, and an upper member 20 which is a foamed resin molded body to be superposed on the lower member. Preferably, the lower member 10 is an in-mold foamed molded body, and regulating bodies (corner pillars 12, side pillars 14, and columns 16) for regulating the movement of the superposed upper member 20 in the transverse direction is integrated therewith. The upper member 20 is an extruded foam molded body, and a through-hole 21 of the shape along a contour shape of the machine part to be packed is formed by the trimming punch forming.
