PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for determining an analyte in a fluid sample, particularly a bodily fluid. SOLUTION: The analysis device (2) is configured so as to analyze the fluid sample after adding the fluid sample to the analysis area (4) of an examination element (5) prepared for the analysis of the fluid sample, particularly the bodily fluid, and the device determines the analyte in the fluid sample, particularly the bodily fluid using a hydrophilicity imparting device (3) which is configured so as to make a surface in the analysis area (4) hydrophilic for the production of the examination element (5).
