PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making insertional mutations at random or quasi-random locations in the cellulous nucleic acid in a target cell. SOLUTION: The method for making insertional mutations at random or quasi-random locations in the cellulous nucleic acid in a target cell is provided, wherein the method comprises a step of introducing synaptonemal complex in the target cell under conditions that mediate transpositions into the cellulous nucleic acid, and the synaptonemal complex comprises (a) a Tn5 transposase protein and (b) a polynucleotide that comprises a pair of nucleotide sequences adapted for operably interacting with the Tn5 transposase to form the synaptonemal complex and a transposable nucleotide therebetween.
