PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize an optical scanner capable of writing with high picture quality and with little color shift, by using an optical element that varies a scanning position in a sub-scanning direction when the temperature is changed. Ž
SOLUTION: The optical scanner for deflective-scanning a surface to be scanned includes: light sources 1a, 1b for emitting a light beam; a deflector 5 for deflecting the light beam from the light sources; a surface 7 to be scanned which is scanned with the light beam from the deflector; an incident optical system composed of first optical systems 2a, 2b that convert the light beam emitted from the light sources into a desired converged state and a second optical system 4 that makes the light beam converted by the first optical systems to form an image in a sub-scanning direction vertical to the scanning direction of the deflector and to form an image as a linear image long in the main scanning direction near the deflector; and a third optical system containing scanning lenses L1, L2 for making the light beam deflected by the deflector to scan to form images on a plurality of surfaces to be scanned. This optical scanner is provided with an optical element that varies a scanning position on a surface to be scanned, so as to reduce variation in color shift in the sub^scanning direction at the time of ambient temperature change.
