<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive control circuit, which is manufactured at low cost, and to provide an electric power steering apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In this motor drive control circuit 40, a shunt resistor 45, which can detect a current accurately by switch elements UL, VL and WL, is connected beforehand between a motor drive circuit 43 and the negative electrode (GND) of a DC power supply 14. The detection results of AC currents Iu, Iv and Iw by each switch element UL, VL and WL are corrected by correction coefficients Ku, Kv and Kw that are generated from the detection results of the AC currents Iu, Iv and Iw by each switch element UL, VL and WL and the detection results of the AC current Is by the shunt resistor 45. Thereby, if the shunt resistor 45 is accurate, a plurality of phase current detecting elements, which are connected severally to a plurality of switch series circuits 43U, 43V and 43W, can be made inexpensive ones with low accuracy.
