<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display that detects temperature of each display region, calculates a conversion amount of each display region with respect to an image databased on the detection result, and displays the image using the conversion amount, even when temperature variation occurs on each display region of a display panel according to the displayed image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image display 100 controls each brightness of illumination light emitted from each illumination region 221 of a back light 22, and an image is displayed by irradiating each display region 211 of a corresponding display panel 21. A detection section 13 detects the temperature of each display region 211 of the display panel 21 based on the detection result. A setting section 12 sets a conversion parameter according to the temperature of each display region 211 of the display panel 21 based on the detection result. A calculating section 11 calculates the conversion amount of a current frame with respect to the image data for each display region 211 of the display panel 21 by using the conversion parameter which is set for each display region 211 of the display panel 21.
