PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base-isolation structure for a building, suitable for a low-rise building, simple in structure and easy in construction, supporting the weight of the building, and stable against external forces such as typhoon, strong wind or the like except earthquake. SOLUTION: This base-isolation structure for building is constituted by fixing cylindrical frame bodies 1, 2 forming flange faces 1a, 2a at one end by opposing to the upper face of a foundation B and a lower face of the building C, respectively, providing a plurality of shearing rings 3 between these frame bodies 1 and 2, and pressing rubber chips 4 into a cylindrical frame formed of these frame bodies 1, 2 and the shearing rings 3 in a pre-compressed condition.
