<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for display control and a program for achieving the effective display of a thumbnail image corresponding to using conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The display control device includes: a reception section 51 for receiving a television broadcast signal; a display 20 for displaying video information, a reproduction video image and a thumbnail image contained in the television broadcast signal; a recording section 55 for recording the video information while performing face recognition processing; and a control section 50 for controlling display on the display 20 of the video information, the reproduction video image and the thumbnail image at a display section.
