<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the conveyance efficiency of a plate-like body as much as possible while attaining space-saving, even in conveying along a conveyance route while hanging and supporting the plate-like body, such as a glass plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plate-like body carrying device 1 conveys a glass pane G along the conveyance route, while hanging and supporting the pane. The plate-like body carrying device 1 includes: a plurality of plate-like body delivery areas X which are provided on the conveyance route; a first supporting means 2 which is arranged in a fixed place of each of the plurality of plate-like body delivery areas X; and a second supporting means 3 which travels along the conveyance route among plate-like body delivery areas X which are adjacent to one another at a plurality of places on the conveyance route. The plate-like body carrying device 1 is configured such that each second supporting means 3 sequentially receives the glass plate G hanged and supported by a first supporting means 2 arranged in the plate-like body delivery area X in the upstream of the conveyance route, and each second supporting means 3 conveys and hands over the glass plate G to the first supporting means arranged in plate-like body delivery area X which is adjacent to the downstream.
