A color image forming apparatus to which a plurality of cartridges (P) are detachably mounted, including: main body side positioning portions (80a) provided on an apparatus main body (100); a cartridge supporting member (300) detachably supporting the cartridges (P) having cartridge side electric contacts (500S) and cartridge side positioned portions (P3), and movable among a first position for forming images, a second position retracted from the first position, and a third position where the cartridges (P) are pulled out of the main body (100); a pressing member pressing (350) the positioned portions (P3) on the main body side positioning portions (80a); and main body side electric contacts (500K) provided on the main body (100), wherein the cartridge side electric contacts (500S) are directly and electrically connected to the maind body side electric contacts (500K) when the positioned portions (P3) are pressed on the positioning portions (80a) by the pressing member (350).
