DEVICE FOR PROMOTING IMPROVEMENT IN DRIVE OPERATION SKILL FOR IMPROVING FUEL EFFICIENCY

Degree of difficulty for determining fuel-efficiency-related drive operation is changed as the level of drive operation skill is improved.  A device for indicating the fuel efficiency state of a vehicle according to a drive operation detects the drive state of the vehicle according as the driver of the vehicle performs the drive operation.  A score indicating the fuel efficiency state of the vehicle that is according to the drive operation and is assigned to correspond to the drive state is calculated, and an indication (39, 33) of the score is presented as the above-mentioned indication of fuel efficiency state.  Assignment of score to the drive state is changed according to the accumulated value of scores (lifetime score).  For example, assignment of score to the drive state is changed in such a manner that the score becomes lower for a higher accumulated value.  Consequently, scoring can be made stricter as the level of a drive operation skill indicated by the accumulated value becomes higher.
