PREFIX ASSIGNING METHOD, PREFIX ASSIGNING SYSTEM AND MOBILE NODE

Disclosed is a technique for reducing the packet sizes of and the number of binding update messages in each of which a prefix assigned to a mobile node having a plurality of interfaces is bound together with the home address of the mobile node.  According to the technique, the length of an original prefix (P1) (for example, 64 bits) is extended by one bit to generate lower-level prefixes (P11, P12) of 65 bits.  The length of the lower-level prefix (P12) of 65 bits is extended by one bit to generate lower-level prefixes (P121, P122) of 66 bits.  The lower-level prefixes (P11 P121, P122) are assigned to the interfaces (IF1, IF2, IF3) of an MN (200).
