The cosmetic stick composition comprises a wax component, polymeric organic hydrogen forming substance, a nonionic oil in water emergent and a nonionic water in oil emergent. An oil liquid under standard condition, a water soluble polyvalent 2-9 carbons alkanol with 2-6 hydroxyl groups or a water-soluble polyethylene glycol with 3-20 ethylene oxide units, 6-75 wt.% of water, a nonionic and ionic emulgent or surfactant, a cosmetic or dermatological active ingredient and a solid, water-insoluble particulate filler are also provided. The wax component has fusion point greater than 50[deg] C and is not added in the nonionic oil in water emulgent and the nonionic water in oil emulgent. The nonionic oil in water emulgent has a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value of greater than seven within the oil in water emulgent mixture within an average HLB value of 11-17. The nonionic water in oil emulgent has a HLB value of 1.0-7.0, which forms liquidcrystalline structures with water or with water in the presence of a hydrophilic emulgent, as consistency agents or water binders. The oil liquid under standard condition does not represent a fragrance component and essential oil, where the average solubility parameter of the whole of the contained oils differs from the average solubility parameter of the water in oil emulgent or the water in oil emulgent. The mixture of the polymeric hydrogel-forming substance is excluded from guar gum, locust bean gum and pectin. The total content of nonionic and ionic emulgent or surfactants has a HLB value of greater than 8. A free radical inhibitor substance or a precipitating substance is provided in combination with an UV filter substance. Independent claims are included for: (1) a cosmetic, non-therapeutic method for improving the appearance of the skin, which involves applying a stick composition on the skin, particularly on the skin of the shoulder or face; and (2) a method for producing a cosmetic stick composition, which involves heating and melting wax and oil components with the oil in water and water in oil emulgent at 90-95[deg] C, adding heated water at 90-95[deg] C with the water-soluble effective and ingredients under strong agitation, adding other ingredients, cooling the mixture at a suitable filling temperature, filling into suitable dispenser forms, and solidifying by static cooling without agitating at room temperature.
