<p>The film has sealant layers 3a, 3b on both surfaces of a compostable, polymeric core 2. The film also includes an embossed layer 4a bearing a diffractive structure 6. The embossed layer is either a sealant layer or a layer contiguous thereto. Preferably, the film includes a thermostable layer (4b, figures 4&5) opposite the embossed layer. The film preferably includes a print receptive layer 9 and adhesive 7. The diffractive structure 6 is preferably a vacuum deposited aluminium or zinc sulphide. The compostable core 2 preferably comprises a cellulosic polymer, an oxyalkanoyl (for example, lactone or hydroxyacid) polymer or polyester. The hologram, preferably applied to a substrate 8, is used in packaging.</p> |
