Rising gathered members (4) of an absorbent main body (3) attached to an exterior sheet (2) are installed so as to rise from both edge portions (3a) in a width direction of the absorbent main body (3). Inwardly folded base end portions (4b) are bonded jointly to both side end portions (13a) of a top sheet (13) that is the top face of the absorbent main body (3) and to both side end portions (14a) of a back sheet (14). The back sheet (14) of the absorbent main body (3) is attached by bonding to a skin face side of a crotch portion (R) of a second exterior sheet (8), in such a way that the positions that are respectively a predetermined width (W5) inside from both extreme side edge portions (3a) of the absorbent main body (3) are as the outermost bonding positions. Because of the structure above, urine, etc. are prevented effectively from leaking sideways even when the disposable absorbent article is displaced. Further, because the base end portions of the rising gathered members are only attached to both side end portions of the top face of the absorbent main body by bonding, a sheet fold down step, etc. are not required so that steps are simplified, the production cost is reduced and stability in product accuracy is increased.
