PURPOSE: A floating method by step ballasting is provided to reduce the number of manufacturing processes for keel block installation by reducing the number of required keel blocks. CONSTITUTION: A floating method by step ballasting is as follows. Initial ballasting is made for weight addition in a ballast tank of a ship. In consideration of the ballasting amount in the ballast tank, sea water is ballasted in a dock to a draft level where stable buoyancy is created. Additional ballasting is made in the ballast tank. In consideration of the additional ballasting amount in the ballast tank, sea water is additionally ballasted in the dock to a draft level where stable buoyancy is created about the total ballasting amount.
