The method involves adjusting combustion parameter based on an optimal preset value to reduce pollutant emissions, when a combustion engine is supplied with low alcoholized fuel. The parameter is adjusted based on another optimal preset value to reduce the pollutant emissions, when the engine is supplied with fuel having high alcohol rate, e.g. E85 fuel, if difference between a measured value of speed of the engine and a predicted value of the engine speed is higher than a preset threshold after N iterations of the parameter adjustment carried out based on the former optimal value. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an information recording medium comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for adjusting combustion parameter of a combustion engine (2) a device for adjusting combustion parameter of a combustion engine during cold starting.
