The device has a control unit i.e. handling key, arranged on a case for activating a function of a motor vehicle. A function indicator is in the form of a pictogram, and is affixed on the control unit for indicating the function. The control unit and the indicator are respectively made of phosphorescent plastic and non-phosphorescent plastic. A phosphorescence visualization unit allows visualization of the function indicator, where impression of the function indicator is formed by screen printing or pad printing. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a remote control device for a motor vehicle.
