PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating material having excellent durability and exhibiting excellent performance, such as hardenability, hardness, and abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: This aqueous coating material comprises, as essential components, (A) a water-dispersible resin containing, as a resin component, a polymer of monomers including a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester and a carboxy group-containing monomer, wherein the proportion of the carboxy group-containing monomer in the monomers is 0.2-20 wt.%, and having a glass transition temperature of 0-80°C, (B) an epoxy-containing compound having 2 or more epoxy groups per molecule, (C) a basic compound, and (D) an amino group-containing alkoxysilane compound.
