<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift operating mechanism of a manual transmission for a vehicle, providing a shift feeling. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this shift operating mechanism 10 of the manual transmission 12, pivoting motion of an inner lever 79 is converted to predetermined linear motion of a shift shaft, and the speed is varied by operating the shift shaft from a neutral position to a predetermined operating position. In the neutral position, the center O1 of curvature of a first cam face 94 is set on the opposite side to a first shift position side from the pivoting center of the inner lever 79 in the moving direction of the shift shaft, and the center O2 of curvature of a second cam face 96 is set on the opposite side to a second shift position side from the pivoting center of the inner lever 79 in the moving direction of the shift shaft so that the centers O1 of curvature of the first cam face 94 and the second cam face 96 match with the pivoting center of the inner lever 79 in the predetermined moving direction of the shift shaft, when the inner lever 79 is turned from the middle position by a predetermined angle θ1.
