<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic capacitor which is arranged to be buried in a circuit board. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitor element, an anode terminal, a cathode terminal, and a case which has the capacitor element sealed therein and exposes at least part of the anode and cathode terminals externally extended from both sides of the case. Each of the terminals has an upper surface facing the direction of the capacitor element and a lower surface facing such a direction as to go away from the capacitor element. In contrast to a conventional art surface mounting electrolytic capacitor, upper surfaces of the exposed anode and cathode terminals are attached to a circuit board. In this way, since the capacitor is mounted basically "upside down" so that the capacitor is buried in the substrate in such a state that part or the whole thickness of the capacitor is buried in the substrate itself, the height profile of the capacitor on the substrate can be minimized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
