<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent output image deterioration resulting from peeling of a tag, by using transparent toner print, thereby coating printed output matter, because there is the possibility to cause damage to a document by peeling a tag when the tag is attached to a printed image in a document after printing. <P>SOLUTION: A printing control apparatus controls an image forming apparatus that prints with transparent toner on output matter subjected to printing with color toner. When a tag mode is set, a printing mode input by a user is determined. Based on the determined print mode, an area to be subjected to printing with the transparent toner is determined among the pages of the output matter. In this case, the area to be subjected to printing with the transparent toner is a rectangular area located in at least one of the upper end, lower end, left end, and right end of a page to which a tag may be attached to the output matter.
