<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic game controller capable of sensing an image of a player's body, sensing various movements of a player and allowing the player to operate and control a change in a predetermined cursor or object on a display screen in an electronic game; and to provide a method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: In this electronic game controller capable of sensing an image of a player's body: an infrared light emitting unit 11 of an infrared light emitting device 1 emits an infrared light to the player; an image receiving device 2, responding to the passage of the infrared light containing the reflection from the player, optically providing an image, and outputs digital image signals; an arithmetic control unit 3 receives the digital image signals, removes an environmental background image out of the digital image signals, locks the player's image alone, computes it with its defined on planar reference coordinates, distinguishes a change in the player's image with respect to a time axis on the planar reference coordinates, and generates operation control signals of a change in a predetermined cursor or object on the display screen in the electronic game according to the various movements of the player's body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
