<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constitution which attains secure selection of a recording medium corresponding to a battery remaining amount. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In an apparatus where a plurality of recording media can be used as a data recording destination, data recordable periods regulated by the battery remaining amount are calculated with respect to a first medium selected as the data recording destination and a second medium other than the first medium. When the data recordable period when the data is recorded on the second medium is determined to be longer, notification processing for urging changing of the recording destination to the second medium is performed.
