SOFTWARE MASK CALCULATION PROGRAM AND PROJECTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a lightness difference between the inside and outside of a superposed area where respective projection areas are superposed on one another, in the case of forming a composite image by using a plurality of projectors.

SOLUTION: In a projection system 10, the plurality of projectors 16 project the projection images on a screen respectively so that the respective projection areas are superposed on one another. Each hardware mask 110 is configured to reduce the emitted light quantity emitted from the corresponding projector 16 toward the superposed area. A video generation part 102 generates image data to be input to each of the corresponding projectors 16 while using the software mask calculated using the shape of the hardware mask 110 so as to reduce the lightness difference between the inside and outside of the superposed area of the whole projection image projected by the projectors 16.
