<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-deadening member for an image forming apparatus or the like which can be permanently used without requiring an expensive equipment. <P>SOLUTION: When the vibration-deadening member 100 is inserted into a space between the image forming apparatus and a floor face, and air is introduced from an air introducing and venting part 103, an expansion part 101 is expanded to float up the image forming apparatus. Even if a large impact is generated by an earthquake or the like, the vibration is not directly transmitted to the image forming apparatus from the floor face, and is attenuated by the air of the expansion part 101 to be able to suppress an unprepared movement or falling down of the image forming apparatus.
