A method of replacing operating platform of converter plant includes pointing of the platform at the disconnected elements (beams and shields) and dismounting of the beam fastening to the platform. After the pointing of the operating platform shields are placed on the beams, under which the jack car is delivered by rails with the newel rigidly fixed on it. The total height of the newel with the jack car in the initial position is less than the distance from the rail head to the bottom of the operating platform. The platen of the jack car is lifted with hydraulic cylinder up to the stop of the upper surface of the newel in the lower surface of the operating platform beam, the beam fastening is dismounted to the operating platform, the beam is lifted above the operating platform and it is taken away on the jack car to the operating range of the electro overhead travelling crane.
