<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely obtain and supply a required paper, without disturbing operation in another printer, when a paper runs out during printing. <P>SOLUTION: In a printer 1, when it is detected that the paper runs out during printing, a control section checks whether the paper required for printing is present or not in the paper feeding tray 15 of another printer 1, based on paper information obtained from the other printer 1. When the required paper is present, the control section requests the provision of the paper to the other printer 1. The other printer 1 prints a specified number of papers as blank papers, to discharge them from the paper feeding tray 15.
