<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat seal wrapper paper which is printable using a thermal transfer printer, is easily torn by hand yet adequately strong and is provided with a heat seal characteristic as a wrapper paper used for packaging food, buckwheat noodle, a boxed lunch, a rice ball, a daily dish, or a leek at a supermarket, a convenience store, etc. or for binding vegetables such as spinach, spring onion or flowers. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a thermal transfer printable heat seal wrapper paper which is easily torn by hand and whose base material is paper. A thin polyolefin resin layer is formed on the front face and back face of the base material. The resin layer is provided with a surface characteristic and a heat resistant characteristic for thermal transfer printing.
