PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AD converter capable of operating with a low power consumption. SOLUTION: The AD converter includes a reference voltage generation circuit, a plurality of first amplifier circuits, a plurality of track hold circuits, a plurality of second amplifier circuits, and a control unit. The reference voltage generation circuit generates a plurality of different reference voltage, respectively. Each of the plurality of first amplifier circuits outputs voltage according to difference between voltage of an input analog signal and each reference voltage. Each of the plurality of track hold circuits performs an output following a change in an output voltage value of each first amplifier circuits at a tracking mode, and holds and outputs the output voltage value of each first amplifier circuit at a hold mode. Each of the plurality of second amplifier circuits amplifies an output voltage of each of the plurality of track hold circuits. The control unit stops or restricts the operating current of each of the second amplifier circuits when each of the plurality of track hold circuits is in the tracking mode, and stops or restricts the operating current of each of the first amplifier circuits when each of the plurality of track hold circuits is in the hold mode.
